A strong partnership for creative visions – How young designers use TEX-DESIGN™ to realise their ideas professionally

What happens when fashion doesn’t conceal, but reveals? Emilie Gretzmeier, a graduate of the class of 2025 at the Sigmaringen Fashion School, opened her final collection, Healing. Inspired by the overarching theme of ‘kaleidoscope’, which encompassed aspects of both transformation and a change of perspective, she translated inner processes into textile surfaces. Raw, honest and highly aesthetic. From the outset, the collection was created using professional design software from Koppermann.

Healing impressively demonstrates how creative concepts can be precisely developed and implemented with the aid of digital technology. Gretzmeier’s designs deal with injury, healing and transformation – made visible through complex structures, surfaces and knitted patterns that combine emotion and craftsmanship.

Knitting is a key design element of the collection. The designs were created using TEX-DESIGN™ from Koppermann with the TEX-KNIT™ knitting plug-in. The software enabled the young designer to create virtual knitting structures, simulate realistic stitch patterns and prepare the data directly for the knitting machine. In this way, a conceptual idea was transformed into a precisely crafted, producible design – efficient, controllable and creative at the same time.

The fact that pupils and students work with professional tools such as those from Koppermann during their training is part of a proven concept. The Sigmaringen Fashion School and Koppermann have enjoyed a close partnership since 2003. Koppermann continuously supports the training of young designers through training courses, workshops such as Teacherdays and the use of practical software. Emilie Gretzmeier’s Healing collection is a prime example of this interplay between education, technology and creativity. It combines fashion that tells a story with software that structures, visualises and realises ideas. Koppermann’s technology gives young designers the tools they need to realise their visions independently, precisely and with an eye to the future.
