Success Story Popken Fashion Group – Success with Style!

Based in Rastede, Lower Saxony (Germany), POPKEN FASHION GROUP has for many years counted as the leading provider of larger sizes in ladies fashion. Customers love the north German company not only for its exclusive fashion in larger sizes, but also for its tradition and passion for cuts and colour designs.

POPKEN FASHION GROUP has used Koppermann‘s creative solution TEX-DESIGN™ since 2010 to optimise the artistic design of its collections and stay abreast of the fast-paced fashion segment and meet increasing product requirements. The necessity to digitise the entire product development process was also recognised in parallel, and so the company went in search of an efficient and powerful PLM solution capable of taking on the challenge.

Koppermann was able to secure the deal during the selection process thanks to its flexible database structure and seamless continuity, ultimately replacing the existing third-party solution and the time-consuming work with Excel lists over the course of a multi-stage project. Comprehensive work process restructuring and standardisation led to a noticeable reduction in the amount of work for users and sustainable savings in time and resources with regard to product development. „In addition to the highly flexible solution and comprehensive expert know-how, what impressed us most were the cooperation based on partnership and the outstanding project management“, comments Barbara Arnold-Reinschmidt, purchasing manager at POPKEN FASHION GROUP.

All products, regardless of whether full package or outward processing, are initially recorded and defined using the Koppermann PLM solution. All the necessary steps in the workflow process are subsequently monitored. The Koppermann PLM solution assists users with calendar management
and tracking via an internal Action Calendar that is centrally defined at the start of the season. The models themselves independently define the Action Calendar applicable to them on the basis of specific characteristics and in doing so generate their respective target date. Other quality assurance matters such as a comprehensive incoming goods inspection or sample assessment are also logged and tracked centrally within the Koppermann solution.

Another successful project milestone was initiated through the acquisition of the GINA LAURA brand. The existing PLM system was successfully replaced by Koppermann in 2016 during the course of the acquisition to create a continuous, cross-company PLM landscape. Employees at GINA LAURA are currently preparing the first collection using the Koppermann solution.
he PLM solution in place at POPKEN FASHION GROUP is under continuous further development, regardless of the fact that the initial core project has already been successfully completed. The Koppermann project team helps the system‘s administrators to sustainably handle continuously changing market requirements in a future-oriented fashion.

Koppermann offers its customers long-term partnerships and a progressive evolution of its comprehensive solution. It is therefore hardly surprising that POPKEN FASHION GROUP and Koppermann are already starting a new process optimisation project: the implementation of the Fabric Library that enables all the relevant fabric types to be logged and managed across seasons. This provides an optimum overview for everyone involved in the creative process.
